Claim Examples
Professional Liability
While a home health aide is helping a client up from a chair, she loses her grip on the client’s arm. The client falls to the floor, sustaining injuries to her face.
General Liability
A medical spa client is preparing to receive a permanent makeup application. While waiting for the procedure, the salon chair breaks and she fractures her hip.
Abuse and Molestation
A trainer is working with a teen at a fitness center. During a training session, the girl is sexually molested. The girl’s family sues the fitness center, and their abuse and molestation coverage responds for bodily injury and mental duress.
Hired and Non-Owned Auto
Jessica is a staff member working for an alcohol rehabilitation facility that provides counseling. While Jessica is driving a client to an event, she fails to yield at a stop sign and strikes another vehicle. The client sustains a severe bodily injury and sues Jessica’s personal auto policy. The claim amount ultimately exceeds Jessica’s personal auto limits, and a secondary claim is made against the hired and non-owned policy of the rehabilitation facility.
Property
A fire breaks out as a result of a curling iron that contacted a bottle of hair dye in a spa. The incident results in extensive smoke and heat damage to both the building and its contents and forces the spa to seek an alternative facility for a period of one month. The spa faces a loss of $75,000 in property damage and extra expenses.
Employment Practices
A nurse is terminated after raising concerns about patient safety and the facility’s policies. She alleges that the termination was in retaliation for speaking out against her employer.
